StopProof

StopProof is a mobile + web app that scores how trustworthy a transit schedule is right now, per stop and route. Instead of only showing “next bus in 6 min,” it adds a Reliability Score based on recent real-world performance: missed trips, bunching, early departures, and chronic delays. Riders can quickly see whether to trust the posted times or switch to another line, walk to a different stop, or use a backup mode. The app pulls GTFS + GTFS-Realtime where available, and falls back to lightweight rider check-ins (one-tap “bus arrived / didn’t arrive”) to detect ghost buses and service gaps. It also sends “leave now” alerts only when confidence is high, reducing notification fatigue. This is not glamorous, and it won’t beat Google Maps on breadth, but it can win on honesty and decision usefulness in cities where schedules are frequently wrong.
