StormPivot
StormPivot helps hikers, climbers, paddlers, and backcountry skiers decide whether to start, continue, reroute, or bail out—based on hyperlocal weather, terrain exposure, and your group’s risk tolerance. It combines nowcasts, lightning proximity, wind gust forecasts, and precipitation intensity with route context (ridgelines, tree cover, river crossings) to generate a simple “risk timeline” for the next few hours. Users can import a GPX route, mark critical points (summit push, creek crossing, rappel), and get alerts when conditions are trending into unsafe thresholds. This is not a magic safety guarantee; it’s a decision-support tool that makes tradeoffs explicit and reduces “we’ll be fine” bias. Offline mode caches forecasts and maps before you lose signal. It also creates a post-trip report to learn from near-misses and improve planning.
