StoryLabKid

StoryLabKid is a mobile + web AI-assisted educational entertainment app where kids co-create short, illustrated stories that secretly teach reading comprehension, vocabulary, and basic science/social-emotional concepts. A parent or teacher picks an age band and a skill goal (e.g., “infer emotions,” “cause and effect,” “animal habitats”). The child makes choices in a branching story, speaks or types responses, and the app generates kid-safe scenes and questions. After each chapter, it gives a 60-second “mini mission” offline prompt (draw, act it out, find an object) and then checks understanding with a quick, game-like quiz. It includes a parent dashboard showing skill progress and suggested next activities. Brutal truth: you’ll lose if you try to be another generic “AI bedtime story” app; this has to be structured, measurable learning with tight safety controls and clear outcomes.
