StoryLoom
StoryLoom is a mobile + web app for recording oral-history interviews and turning them into organized, shareable archives without requiring a historian or editor. Users record audio/video, then the app generates a time-coded transcript, highlights names/places/dates, and prompts follow-up questions to fill gaps. Each story becomes a “thread” that can be linked to people profiles, photos, and documents, creating a navigable family/community timeline. Sharing is controlled: private by default, with granular permissions for relatives, researchers, or local museums. The realistic angle: it won’t magically produce perfect transcripts or facts; it focuses on fast capture, good-enough indexing, and easy correction workflows so families actually finish projects. Monetization is straightforward: subscription for storage and collaboration, plus one-time “archive export” packages for long-term preservation.
