StorySparks

StorySparks is a mobile + web app that helps kids (ages 6–10) build reading comprehension through short, leveled stories and ultra-quick check-ins. After each story, the child answers 3–5 questions that mix recall, inference, and vocabulary. The twist: parents and teachers get a simple dashboard that shows where the child struggles (e.g., inference vs. vocabulary) and suggests the next story set—without pretending to replace a teacher. The app avoids flashy gamification that often distracts; instead it uses streaks, gentle rewards, and “read-aloud mode” for early readers. It also supports offline downloads for families with limited connectivity. This is not a miracle cure for literacy; it’s a structured practice tool that makes consistent reading easier to maintain and easier to monitor.
