StorySpeak

StorySpeak is a mobile app (tablet-first) that gets kids actually talking in a new language by turning practice into short, guided story “missions.” A child picks a story world (space, animals, detectives), listens to a 20–40 second scene, then must respond out loud to continue: answer a question, repeat a phrase with emotion, or choose between two spoken options. The app uses AI speech recognition to score pronunciation and clarity, but it’s intentionally constrained to kid-safe, curriculum-aligned prompts—no open-ended chat. Parents/teachers get a simple dashboard: minutes spoken, words mastered, and the 5 most-mispronounced sounds with suggested drills. Content is leveled (A0–A2 equivalent for kids), with offline packs for travel and low-connectivity homes. The goal is consistent speaking reps, not endless gamified tapping.
