StrandAid

StrandAid is a mobile + web app for coordinating marine mammal stranding response (seals, dolphins, whales). It replaces messy phone trees, Facebook posts, and scattered spreadsheets with a single incident workflow: report intake, triage questions, GPS location, photos/video, hazard flags, and automatic routing to the right authorized network based on species and jurisdiction. Responders get a live incident board, volunteer dispatch, equipment checklists, and offline-capable field notes that sync when signal returns. The app also generates standardized handoff summaries for veterinarians and agencies, and maintains a searchable history for training and compliance. It’s an AI-assisted app: it can suggest likely species from photos and highlight red-flag symptoms, but it never replaces expert judgment. Realistically, adoption hinges on partnering with existing rescue orgs and proving it reduces response time and admin burden.
