StudbookSync

StudbookSync is a web app (with a lightweight mobile companion) that helps zoos and conservation breeding programs keep studbooks accurate, current, and actionable without forcing a full replacement of existing systems. It focuses on the unglamorous reality: messy IDs, duplicate animals, inconsistent parentage notes, and delayed transfers that quietly wreck breeding decisions. The app ingests exports from common record systems (CSV/XML), runs validation rules, flags conflicts (e.g., impossible ages, circular pedigrees, duplicate microchips), and creates a review queue for coordinators. It also provides a simple “transfer packet” generator with standardized fields for partner institutions, reducing back-and-forth emails. This is a traditional app with AI-assisted data cleaning (entity matching and anomaly detection), but it remains human-approved to avoid dangerous automated changes. The goal is fewer errors, faster coordination, and better genetic management outcomes.
