SubShield

SubShield is a mobile wallet companion that creates “merchant-locked” virtual cards for subscriptions and free trials. Each card can be set with a monthly cap, renewal date, and auto-freeze rules so a forgotten trial can’t quietly convert into a recurring charge. The app watches transactions and sends alerts when a merchant changes billing behavior (amount jumps, billing cadence shifts, new descriptor), then lets users pause, lower the cap, or kill the card in one tap. It also provides a clean subscription dashboard built from real transaction data, not manual entry, and offers a simple “cancel assist” flow with step-by-step merchant-specific instructions. This is not magic: some merchants can still bill via account-based charges or card updater services, so SubShield focuses on the cases where virtual cards reliably work and clearly labels confidence per merchant.
