Substify

Substify is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps manufacturers and distributors pre-qualify substitute parts, materials, and logistics lanes so disruptions don’t halt production. Instead of generic “risk scores,” it builds a practical substitution playbook: approved alternates, required spec deltas, lead times, MOQ impacts, compliance notes (RoHS/REACH), and who must sign off. Users upload BOMs/part masters and supplier lists; the system maps critical items, flags single-source dependencies, and suggests alternates using a mix of rules and AI-assisted matching across internal catalogs, historical POs, and public/paid datasets. It then generates a ready-to-execute “swap plan” with cost/lead-time tradeoffs and a checklist for engineering, quality, and procurement. Reality check: data will be messy and incomplete; the product wins only if it integrates cleanly with ERP/PLM and makes approvals faster, not just prettier dashboards.
