SubtextScan

SubtextScan is an AI-assisted writing companion that flags cultural and pragmatic pitfalls in everyday messages—especially in cross-cultural workplaces. Paste an email, Slack/Teams message, customer reply, or performance feedback and it highlights likely misreads: indirect refusals, over-blunt phrasing, ambiguous requests, face-saving language, power-distance issues, and “too casual/too formal” mismatches. It doesn’t try to teach a whole language; it focuses on intent clarity and relationship risk. The app suggests 2–3 rewrites with different tones (direct, diplomatic, warm) and explains the trade-offs in plain language. A “recipient lens” lets you choose a region/culture profile (e.g., US, UK, Germany, Japan, India) and a relationship (peer/manager/client). Realistic limitation: it won’t be perfect, and it should explicitly warn users when confidence is low or context is missing.
