SunShift

SunShift is a mobile + web app that tells homeowners exactly when to run high-load appliances (EV charging, laundry, dishwasher, heat pump) to maximize self-consumption and minimize grid costs. It connects to your utility rate plan, pulls day-ahead solar production forecasts, and reads real household usage from common smart meters or inverter portals. Instead of vague “save energy” tips, it produces a simple daily schedule and real-time alerts: “Start EV charge at 1:10pm for 2.5 hours” or “Delay dryer until 12:40pm—solar surplus expected.” It also tracks savings with conservative assumptions and flags when your setup (rate plan, battery settings, export limits) is leaving money on the table. This is not magic: if you don’t have flexible loads or time-of-use pricing, savings will be modest, and the app will say so.
