SupplyChainSleuth

SupplyChainSleuth is a web app with a companion mobile app that helps retailers, food brands, and institutional buyers (cafeterias, universities, hospitals) verify animal-welfare marketing claims with evidence, not vibes. Users build a “claim file” for each product/SKU: certifications, audit reports, supplier disclosures, farm locations, transport/slaughter policies, and any public allegations or enforcement actions. The app scores each claim’s strength (e.g., “cage-free,” “humanely raised”) based on document freshness, audit independence, chain-of-custody completeness, and mismatch flags (like certification scope not covering the SKU). It also generates a buyer-ready compliance packet and a plain-language summary for internal stakeholders. This is not a consumer barcode-scanner fantasy that magically knows everything. It’s a workflow tool: request documents from suppliers, track deadlines, store evidence, and create a defensible record. An AI layer extracts key fields from PDFs, detects contradictions, and drafts supplier follow-up questions, but the app makes it clear where humans must verify. The goal is reducing greenwashing risk and making ethical procurement operationally manageable.
