SwipePause

SwipePause is a mobile app + browser extension that adds a “cooling-off” layer before non-essential credit card purchases. It connects to your accounts (via read-only aggregation) to estimate your true next-statement balance, utilization impact, and interest risk if you don’t pay in full. You set rules like: block/flag purchases over $75 when utilization would cross 30%, or when your projected cash-on-hand won’t cover the statement. At checkout, it shows a simple risk label (Green/Yellow/Red) and offers alternatives: smaller amount, debit, wait 24 hours, or split into planned payments. It’s not a magical budget app—if you ignore it, it can’t save you—but it makes impulsive credit spending measurably harder and more transparent. The goal is fewer “I didn’t realize” moments and fewer revolving balances.
