SwitchSafe is a web + mobile app for distribution utilities to reduce switching errors and speed up safe restoration during storms and high-load events. It turns existing GIS/OMS/SCADA data into a step-by-step switching “runbook” with built-in checks: device status, feeder backfeed risk, crew location, and required clearances. The app is not magic—if your source data is messy, it will surface that and force manual confirmation—but it still cuts the most common failure mode: humans juggling PDFs, radio calls, and outdated prints under pressure. A lightweight AI layer flags risky steps (e.g., potential parallel feeds, abnormal load transfer) and suggests alternate sequences, while keeping final authority with the switching supervisor. It also captures an auditable record of who approved what, when, and why, helping with post-event reviews and compliance.
