SwitchWatch

SwitchWatch is a web app (with optional tablet companion) that helps distribution operators validate and execute switching plans safely and consistently. Utilities still rely on spreadsheets, tribal knowledge, and scattered GIS/SCADA notes—leading to avoidable mis-operations, longer outages, and compliance headaches. SwitchWatch ingests feeder topology (from GIS/CIM exports), planned work orders, and real-time device status (where available) to generate a step-by-step switching checklist with built-in interlock rules, hold points, and required confirmations. It flags risky steps (backfeed, overload, parallel sources, missing grounds, open points) and produces an auditable log for NERC/utility procedures. This is not a “magic optimizer”; it’s a pragmatic workflow tool that reduces human error, standardizes documentation, and shortens restoration time. MVP can start with offline validation using exported data, then add live integrations as utilities permit.
