SwitchYard is a web + mobile field app for transmission/distribution switching operations that replaces paper switching orders, ad‑hoc radio notes, and scattered spreadsheets. Crews receive step-by-step switching plans, confirm each action with time, location, and required checks (tags, clearances, device IDs), and automatically generate an auditable record. Supervisors get real-time status, hold points, and a clean handoff between shifts. This is not a “smart grid” fantasy product—it’s a practical workflow tool that reduces human error, shortens restoration time, and makes compliance documentation less painful. The MVP focuses on a narrow slice: switching order execution, verification, and reporting, integrating with existing OMS/SCADA only via lightweight exports/imports at first. If you can’t sell into utilities quickly, this will stall—so the product is designed to start with smaller munis/co-ops and contractors who can adopt faster.
