SymptomScout
SymptomScout is a mobile app (with an optional web portal) that helps parents make safer, faster decisions when a child feels unwell. It guides caregivers through age-specific symptom checklists (fever, breathing, rash, vomiting, dehydration, head injury) and produces a clear next step: home care, call pediatrician/telehealth, urgent care, or ER. It also generates a concise “doctor-ready” summary (timeline, meds given, temperature readings, photos) to reduce back-and-forth and missed details. This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional clinical pathways and red-flag rules, plus AI to summarize notes/photos and personalize instructions by age, weight, and known conditions. It’s not a diagnosis tool and should be explicit about limitations. The realistic value is reducing uncertainty and decision fatigue, especially at night, while improving the quality of information shared with clinicians.
