SyncSpec

SyncSpec is a web app that continuously checks whether your design system documentation matches what’s actually shipped in code. It connects to your GitHub/GitLab repo and your docs source (Storybook, Zeroheight, Notion, or a simple Markdown site), then builds a “spec map” of components, props, tokens, and usage guidelines. When code changes without corresponding doc updates (or vice versa), it flags the drift, opens a PR with suggested doc edits, and assigns the right owner. It also generates a changelog that product teams can subscribe to, reducing surprise UI changes. This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional parsing and rules for reliable detection, with AI used only to draft doc updates and summaries. The goal is fewer broken implementations, fewer Slack pings, and faster onboarding for engineers and designers.
