TabLock

TabLock is a desktop + browser extension that kills procrastination where it actually happens: in tabs. You set a “work intent” (e.g., write report for 25 minutes) and TabLock temporarily blocks or delays your top distraction sites, but only during the intent window. The twist is friction, not punishment: when you try to open a blocked site, you must type a one-sentence reason and choose a time you’ll come back—then it either grants a short, metered break or denies access based on your own rules. It also detects tab spirals (rapid switching, endless new tabs) and prompts a one-click “tab freeze” that collapses everything unrelated to your intent. The app stays lightweight, private-first, and doesn’t pretend to be therapy—just a practical guardrail for people who keep losing hours online.
