TapSplit is a mobile wallet companion that creates a temporary “group tab” for trips, roommates, teams, or events. Everyone joins via link/QR, adds their preferred payment method (card, bank, Apple Pay/Google Pay where supported), and the app tracks shared and individual items in real time. At the end, TapSplit auto-calculates who owes what, supports uneven splits, tax/tip, and multiple currencies, then executes one-tap settlement to pay the organizer or pay each person directly. The realistic angle: you won’t replace Venmo/PayPal; you’ll sit on top of existing rails and focus on the painful coordination layer—receipts, fairness, and settlement accuracy. Monetization is straightforward: small fee on instant settlement, optional subscription for heavy users (travel groups, clubs), and merchant partnerships for event venues. Compliance is manageable if you avoid holding funds and use regulated payout providers.
