TariffTuner

TariffTuner is a web + mobile app that helps mini-grid operators design, test, and roll out tariffs that actually match costs and customer ability-to-pay. It ingests basic inputs (diesel/solar/battery costs, O&M, loan terms, losses, demand profiles, customer segments) and simulates revenue, cashflow, and outage risk under different tariff structures (flat, tiered, time-of-use, lifeline + prepaid). It also supports rapid “what-if” scenarios like fuel price spikes, battery degradation, seasonal demand changes, and new anchor loads. The app outputs a simple recommended tariff plan, a compliance-ready report for regulators/donors, and customer-facing pricing explanations in local language templates. It’s not a magic wand: if your site economics are broken, it will show that clearly and suggest the minimum viable changes (raise connection fees, add anchor load, reduce losses) rather than hiding the problem.
