TariffTuner

TariffTuner is a mobile + web app (traditional + AI) that helps households and small businesses reduce electricity costs by translating confusing utility tariffs into clear, actionable schedules. Users connect via utility Green Button data (where available) or upload bills/interval CSVs. The app identifies the user’s actual rate plan, demand charges, TOU windows, and seasonal rules, then simulates what their bill would be under alternative plans offered by the same utility. It produces a simple “when to run what” plan (laundry, EV charging, HVAC pre-cool/heat) and tracks savings over time. The AI component is narrowly used to parse messy bill PDFs, explain tariff rules in plain language, and generate personalized shift recommendations based on the user’s historical load shape. It’s not a magic optimizer; it’s a practical tariff translator and plan comparator with measurable outcomes.
