TaskFriction

TaskFriction is a mobile + desktop app that helps you find the real reasons you don’t finish tasks—without pretending you need another to-do list. When you start a task, it runs a lightweight timer and prompts you (in 5 seconds) to tag the first blocker: unclear next step, missing info, too big, anxiety, distraction, waiting on someone, or low energy. After a week, it shows a “Friction Map” that quantifies your top failure modes and suggests specific fixes: convert vague tasks into next actions, auto-create a 2-minute starter step, generate a one-message “unblock request,” or schedule the task into your high-energy window. It also detects app/website switching patterns to flag context-switching as a blocker. The goal is fewer abandoned tasks, not more planning.
