TaxTranche

TaxTranche is a web + mobile app that computes and schedules estimated tax payments based on real cash inflows, not vague quarterly guesses. Users connect bank accounts and (optionally) Stripe/PayPal to detect income deposits, classify them as taxable, and automatically set aside a configurable percentage into a dedicated “tax bucket” (separate account or tracked balance). The app forecasts quarterly payments using safe-harbor rules, year-to-date profit, and prior-year AGI, then generates payment reminders and one-click links to IRS Direct Pay and state portals. It also produces an audit-friendly ledger showing how each deposit contributed to the estimate, reducing panic at quarter-end. This is a traditional app with light AI: AI assists with transaction categorization and explaining “why this payment amount” in plain English, but the calculations remain rules-based and transparent.
