TempTether is a mobile app (iOS/Android) that pairs with low-cost Bluetooth temperature probes to prevent overcooking and reduce kitchen babysitting. Users pick a protein and target doneness, then TempTether monitors real-time temperature and predicts time-to-target using simple, explainable models (not magic). It sends actionable alerts: “flip now,” “pull in 2 minutes,” and “rest for 7 minutes,” with a loud fail-safe alarm if temperature spikes. The app includes a calibration wizard for different pans/ovens and a “confidence meter” so users know when the prediction is reliable vs. when conditions are too variable (thin cuts, open grills, etc.). It’s realistic: it won’t claim perfect results without a probe, and it won’t try to replace recipes—just nails temperatures and timing. Monetization: one-time probe bundle margin + optional subscription for multi-probe dashboards and cook logs.
