TermTether
TermTether is a web app (with optional desktop connector) that monitors and enforces consistency between your taxonomy/ontology and the places it actually gets used: CMS tags, product catalogs, data dictionaries, and knowledge bases. Instead of building yet another ontology editor, it focuses on drift detection and governance: it ingests term lists and relationships from common sources, highlights conflicts (duplicate concepts, orphan terms, circular hierarchies, inconsistent labels), and creates a review workflow with approvals, changelogs, and impact reports. An AI assistant suggests merges, preferred labels, and relationship fixes, but every change is traceable and reversible. Exports and sync rules push approved updates back to systems of record. The goal is to reduce search failures, reporting mismatches, and “everyone uses different names” chaos—without forcing a full semantic-web rebuild that most orgs won’t maintain.
