TestRestore

TestRestore is a desktop + web app that automatically verifies your backups by performing scheduled, isolated restore drills. Instead of trusting “backup succeeded” logs, it spins up a disposable sandbox (VM/container) and restores a random sample of files, databases, or entire system images, then runs integrity checks and basic smoke tests (e.g., can the database start, can key tables be queried, do critical files open). It produces an audit-ready report with timestamps, checksums, and pass/fail evidence, plus clear remediation steps when restores fail. Integrations cover common backup targets (S3-compatible storage, SMB/NAS shares, popular backup tools via scripts/webhooks). This is a traditional app with optional AI assistance to summarize failures and suggest likely root causes, but it does not pretend to “magically” fix broken backups. The goal is simple: turn backup reliability into a measurable, repeatable process.
