TexBudget
TexBudget is a desktop app (with an optional web dashboard) that analyzes a game or real-time 3D project’s textures and materials to predict VRAM usage and streaming behavior before you ship. You point it at asset folders or a source-control snapshot, and it builds a report: per-level texture memory, mip distribution, compression formats, oversized maps, redundant variants, and worst offenders by platform (PC/console/mobile). It also simulates common runtime scenarios (camera distance bands, streaming pool sizes) to estimate hitch risk and blurry-mip incidents. This is not a magic optimizer; it’s a brutally practical budgeting tool that makes problems visible early and gives concrete, measurable fixes (resize, change format, pack channels, generate mips correctly). It exports tasks directly into Jira/Linear and produces a “texture budget contract” you can enforce in CI.
