Users log the cut type (e.g., chicken breast, salmon fillet), thickness/weight, packaging (vacuum-sealed, tray, loose), starting state (deep frozen vs. partially frozen), and thaw method (fridge, cold-water, microwave). The app generates a conservative thaw window, reminders, and a “use-by after thaw” timer based on food-safety guidance. It also includes a quick checklist for cross-contamination (separate tray, bottom-shelf storage) and a simple thaw history log for repeatability. This is not a magic food-safety device; it’s a practical planner that reduces risky shortcuts and wasted product.
