TideTox

TideTox is a mobile + web app for divers, aquaculture operators, and coastal researchers to log and visualize marine invertebrate-related risk signals—especially harmful algal bloom impacts on shellfish and reef invertebrates. Users record on-site observations (e.g., mass die-offs, unusual coloration, slime, spawning anomalies), attach photos, and optionally add low-cost sensor readings (temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen) from Bluetooth meters. The app aggregates reports into a map with confidence scoring, showing recent incidents and trends by coastline segment. It’s not a lab test replacement; it’s an early-warning and situational awareness tool that helps teams decide when to sample, pause harvesting, or avoid certain dive sites. Data export supports compliance documentation and internal QA. A lightweight “community mode” allows vetted citizen scientists to contribute, while organizations can run private workspaces for their own sites and staff.
