TideWatch

TideWatch is a mobile + web app that turns messy coastal data into simple, actionable beach advisories. It aggregates public sources (NOAA/NWS forecasts, tide gauges, buoy data, harmful algal bloom bulletins, water-quality sampling where available, and satellite-derived chlorophyll/turbidity proxies) and converts them into a single “Go / Caution / Avoid” status for specific beaches and harbors. Users can set favorites and get push alerts for rip-current risk, storm surge, unusual water temps, jellyfish seasonality signals, and closures. It’s not a science dashboard; it’s a decision tool for normal people who just want to know if it’s safe to swim, surf, boat, or bring kids. The app also shows a transparent “why” panel with the exact inputs and confidence level, so it doesn’t feel like a black box. Monetization is subscriptions for power users and licensing for municipalities/tour operators.
