TokenTally

TokenTally is a web app (with optional CLI) that centralizes API usage and cost visibility across third‑party services and internal APIs. It ingests logs/metrics from API gateways and popular SaaS APIs, normalizes them into a single model, and attributes spend to teams, environments, endpoints, and customers. The MVP focuses on the unsexy but urgent problem: nobody knows where API calls (and costs) are coming from until the bill hits. TokenTally provides near real-time dashboards, anomaly alerts (spikes, runaway retries, credential leaks), and simple chargeback reports for finance and engineering leaders. It’s a traditional app with light AI features: AI-assisted anomaly explanations and suggested fixes (e.g., caching, backoff tuning, endpoint consolidation) based on observed patterns. It won’t replace full observability suites, but it will be cheaper, faster to deploy, and purpose-built for API cost governance.
