TolrTrail

TolrTrail is a web + desktop companion app that centralizes tolerance decisions for industrial design and mechanical teams. Instead of scattered notes in CAD comments, PDFs, and Slack, it creates a single “tolerance ledger” per part and assembly: what was chosen, why, which process it assumes (CNC, injection molding, sheet metal), and what it will cost or risk if tightened. It includes a lightweight rules engine with manufacturing capability templates and a review workflow so design, manufacturing, and quality can sign off with traceability. It’s not a magic button that guarantees manufacturability; it’s a practical system to reduce rework, scrap, and late-stage arguments by making tolerance intent explicit and auditable. Optional AI assists by summarizing tolerance rationales, flagging inconsistencies across drawings, and suggesting questions to ask suppliers based on process assumptions.
