ToolTrace

ToolTrace is a mobile + web app for DIYers and small crews to track tools, consumables, and project materials with simple QR labels. You create a “kit” for each project (bathroom remodel, deck build), assign tools to people, and log check-outs/returns in seconds. It also tracks consumables (bits, blades, fasteners, caulk) with low-stock alerts so you don’t waste a Saturday on emergency runs. Receipts can be captured and auto-categorized to show real project cost vs budget. The app is intentionally not a generic project-management tool; it’s focused on the messy reality of tool sharing, misplaced gear, and forgotten supplies. AI is used only where it’s reliable: parsing receipts, suggesting categories, and detecting duplicate items from photos—no “magic” construction advice that could be unsafe.
