TorqueTuner
TorqueTuner is a mobile app (with optional web dashboard) for cyclists and home mechanics who work on modern carbon and lightweight components where over-tightening is expensive. The app uses your phone’s camera to identify the component area (stem faceplate, seatpost clamp, rotor bolts) and then guides you through a step-by-step tightening sequence with the correct torque range, pattern, and common gotchas. It also logs each service action with photos, torque values, and part metadata so you can prove maintenance for resale, warranty claims, or team compliance. It’s an AI-assisted app: AI helps identify parts and suggest torque specs, but it clearly flags confidence and requires user confirmation. Realistically, the hardest part is building a reliable torque-spec database and keeping it current; the app’s value depends on accuracy and transparency.
