ToyRecall

ToyRecall is a mobile app that lets parents and caregivers quickly check whether a toy is recalled, unsafe, or age-inappropriate. Scan a barcode or snap a photo of the packaging; the app matches it to public recall databases (CPSC, EU RAPEX where available) and retailer listings, then summarizes the risk in plain language. It also flags common hazards by age (small parts, magnets, button batteries, lead warnings) and lets you build a household toy inventory with purchase dates, gifting source, and who uses it. When a recall happens, ToyRecall pushes an alert if the toy is in your inventory, with clear steps: stop-use guidance, refund/return links, and disposal instructions. It’s not a miracle safety shield—data can be incomplete and some toys won’t match—but it meaningfully reduces the chance of a recalled toy staying in rotation unnoticed.
