TraceBite is a mobile + web app that helps gluten-free diners assess real-world cross-contact risk at restaurants, not just whether a menu has “GF” labels. Users answer a short profile (celiac vs. sensitivity, risk tolerance), then the app guides them through a fast, standardized “kitchen reality check” for any restaurant: shared fryers, pasta water, grill surfaces, flour in the air, prep separation, and staff training. It generates a clear risk rating and a script of questions to ask, plus a one-tap way to log staff answers and upload photos of allergen guides. Over time, TraceBite builds venue-specific reliability scores based on repeat confirmations, not one-off reviews. It’s not a miracle: it can’t guarantee safety, but it can reduce uncertainty and help users avoid the most common cross-contact traps that cause accidental exposure.
