TracePing

TracePing is a web app (with optional Slack/Teams integrations) that monitors websites and APIs like typical uptime tools, but pairs every alert with lightweight, automatic “breadcrumbs” to speed diagnosis. When a check fails, it immediately runs a short follow-up workflow: multi-region rechecks, DNS resolution capture, TLS handshake details, basic traceroute/MTR summary, and a synthetic request that records headers, timings, and error signatures. It then groups incidents by likely cause (DNS, TLS, origin down, WAF/CDN block, routing) and posts a concise incident card with evidence, not just “it’s down.” This is not full APM; it’s pragmatic monitoring for teams that don’t want to pay enterprise prices or wade through dashboards. The product lives or dies on being faster to understand than incumbents, with clean incident timelines and actionable next steps.
