TrackSwitch

TrackSwitch is a mobile + web app that predicts last-minute platform changes and real boarding positions for commuter and intercity rail. It combines official GTFS-realtime feeds (when available) with crowdsourced confirmations (quick one-tap “platform X confirmed” and “train stopped at marker Y”) and station-specific heuristics (historical change patterns by time/day, disruption types, and operator habits). The app focuses on reducing missed trains and chaotic sprints by telling riders where to stand and when to move—especially at large stations with frequent last-minute swaps. It also provides a “confidence score” so users can judge whether to trust the prediction. This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional for reliable feed ingestion and alerts; AI for pattern learning and confidence scoring. Monetization: commuter subscription for advanced alerts and a B2B dashboard for station retail/rail operators (aggregate crowd flow signals).
