Tradewords

Tradewords is a mobile + web app that helps families and local communities capture, translate, and organize oral histories, sayings, recipes, and place-based memories—fast enough that people will actually use it. Users record short prompts (2–5 minutes), auto-transcribe, tag by person/place/topic, and generate a shareable “family archive” page. The app nudges for consistency with lightweight weekly prompts and a “call-to-record” mode for interviewing elders remotely. It also supports private-by-default sharing, with optional public publishing for community archives. This is an AI + traditional app: AI handles transcription, translation, and summarization, while the product focuses on permissions, structure, and long-term storage. Monetization is realistic: subscriptions for families, and higher-tier plans for libraries, museums, and cultural nonprofits that need compliant collection workflows without building custom software.
