TrailPermit is a mobile + web app that helps hikers, backpackers, and overlanders avoid wasted trips and fines by answering one question fast: “Can I legally go there today?” Users pick a destination (trailhead, wilderness area, forest road, river access) and the app returns a plain-English checklist: required permits, quotas, seasonal restrictions, fire bans, dog rules, parking rules, and real-time closures. It also shows where to apply, the earliest available dates, and what documents to carry offline. The AI layer summarizes messy agency pages and PDFs, flags conflicts, and generates a pre-trip compliance plan. The app is realistic about data gaps: it shows confidence levels and links to sources. Monetization is subscription for frequent users plus affiliate links for permit services and gear—without pretending it replaces official sources.
