TrailQuest
TrailQuest is a mobile app for parents, camps, and elementary teachers to run short, structured outdoor learning missions without needing expert naturalists. It provides location-flexible scavenger hunts (park, backyard, trail) that teach observation, safety, and ecology basics through checklists, photo prompts, and simple experiments (e.g., soil test, leaf rubbings, bird call listening). Content is standards-aligned for ages 6–12 and designed to work offline with downloadable “mission packs.” Adults get a facilitator view with time estimates, materials list, and quick debrief questions. Kids earn badges for completing missions, but the core is guided practice: noticing patterns, recording findings, and reflecting. An AI component helps generate customized missions based on season, region, and available time, but the app avoids unreliable species ID claims by focusing on skills and verified local content packs.
