TrailTag is a mobile app that lets parents create quick outdoor scavenger hunts that actually work in real parks and backyards. Instead of relying on fragile GPS-only gameplay, it uses simple photo-and-location “tags” (e.g., a specific bench, a big oak tree, the playground slide) plus optional QR stickers you can place for repeat play. Kids get a short list of challenges (find, snap, match, or do a movement task), and parents get a lightweight safety layer: a configurable play boundary, check-in timers, and a “lost mode” that guides the child back to a known landmark with big visual cues. It’s not trying to be a full AR game; it’s a practical tool that makes outdoor time easier to start and easier to supervise. Monetization is a subscription for unlimited hunts, printable QR packs, and shared family libraries.
