TrailTagSAR

TrailTagSAR is a mobile + web app that helps search-and-rescue teams collect, verify, and triage public sightings fast. It creates a lightweight “public tipline” that hikers, hunters, and residents can use to submit geotagged reports (photo, direction of travel, time seen, condition, sounds, tracks). On the responder side, a web dashboard clusters tips on a map, flags duplicates, and scores credibility based on proximity, timestamp consistency, and reporter history. It also generates a clean, shareable briefing link for incident command and partner agencies. This is not a replacement for professional SAR planning tools; it’s a narrow, realistic wedge: better intake and prioritization of tips, which is often chaotic and lost across phone calls, Facebook posts, and texts. Offline-capable submission and delayed sync matter in rural terrain.
