TrailTriage

TrailTriage is a mobile app that helps cyclists and e-bike riders quickly figure out what’s wrong when a bike starts making noise, shifting poorly, losing braking power, or throwing error codes. Users answer a short guided checklist (symptoms, recent changes, weather, mileage) and optionally upload a 10-second audio clip or photo of the problem area. The app outputs the most likely causes, a safety rating (rideable vs. stop now), and a minimal parts/tools list. It also generates a step-by-step fix plan tailored to the user’s skill level and what they have on hand, with links to compatible parts by bike model and drivetrain. It’s not magic: it won’t replace a mechanic, but it can prevent wasted trips, reduce misdiagnoses, and help riders communicate clearly with shops when they do need service.
