TransitRx

TransitRx is a mobile + web app that helps public health teams and community clinics measure and reduce “transportation barriers” to care. It combines clinic appointment availability with real-world travel times (public transit, walking, driving) to show which neighborhoods can’t realistically reach services within a chosen threshold (e.g., 30 or 45 minutes). Users can simulate interventions: adding evening clinic hours, deploying mobile clinics, issuing ride vouchers, or partnering with specific transit routes. The app generates equity-focused dashboards and simple, defensible reports for grant applications and board meetings. It also includes a lightweight patient-facing link (no full consumer app needed) that lets staff text a route plan and estimated travel cost/time. This is not a magic fix for structural inequity, but it provides actionable, local evidence to allocate limited resources more fairly and measurably.
