TransitTide
TransitTide is a mobile + web app that predicts and plans observations of time-critical astronomy events—ISS passes, Iridium-like flares (where applicable), bright satellite trains, lunar occultations, meteor shower peaks, and planetary transits/close approaches—tailored to your exact coordinates and local obstructions. The core value is reliability: it combines multiple ephemeris sources, local weather nowcasts, and a simple “go/no-go” score so users don’t waste nights chasing events that won’t be visible. It also includes a lightweight planning flow: pick an event, get a recommended viewing window, compass direction, elevation angle, and a map-based “best nearby spot” suggestion using terrain and light-pollution layers. This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional for ephemeris accuracy, AI for summarizing uncertainty, generating checklists, and explaining visibility constraints in plain language.
