TrapTriage

TrapTriage is a web + desktop app (with an optional mobile companion) that ingests SD-card dumps from wildlife camera traps and rapidly sorts them into: empty/false triggers, humans/vehicles (for compliance), and likely wildlife. It’s a combination traditional + AI app: traditional workflows for folder ingest, metadata, and exports; AI for image triage and rough species suggestions. The brutal reality: most camera-trap work is mind-numbing manual review, and existing tools are either research-grade but clunky, or cloud-first and expensive/slow in the field. TrapTriage focuses on offline-first processing on a laptop at the field station, then syncs only summaries and selected images when internet exists. It outputs clean CSVs and standardized packages for common ecology pipelines, plus a simple QA screen to correct AI mistakes without derailing the workflow.
