If the phone detects a likely crash (sudden deceleration + impact pattern) or an abnormal stop in an unsafe area, it triggers a timed check-in; no response escalates to contacts with last known location, route, and battery status. It also supports “late-night mode” that auto-starts trip sharing when you connect to your car Bluetooth after a set hour. This is realistic but not magical: it won’t replace emergency services everywhere, and detection will have false positives.
